All aboard the H.M.S. Majestic for a riotous adventure in this full length melodrama set in the Roaring Twenties!  Little does our heroine, the heiress Merry Ann Sweet, know that she is the intended victim of the villainous Snively Swine’s kidnapping plot.  With his partner, the slinky and exotic Aracnia Webb, Swine disguises himself as Sir Reginald Rottentot, a British nobleman, in order to gain the confidence of Merry and her flapper friends, Mitzi, Ritzy, and Ditzy.  But Merry falls for the handsome waiter, Cary De Mille.  Poor Cary — he loves Merry, too, but ship’s policy says he can’t get involved with a passenger.  Must these two ships pass in the night?  Not if Merry’s flapper friends can help it!

Tickets at the door or at staytonevents.com. $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors, and $8 for youth tickets.

May 3-19, Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm, Sundays at 2 pm.

All performances are at the Aumsville Community Center, 555 Main Street.

Inner Sanctum May 24-26 (Details coming soon)

Taking its name from a popular series of mystery novels, Inner Sanctum Mysteries debuted over NBC’s Blue Network in January 1941. Inner Sanctum Mysteries featured one of the most memorable and atmospheric openings in radio history: an organist hit a dissonant chord, a doorknob turned and the famous “creaking door” slowly began to open. Every week, Inner Sanctum Mysteries told stories of ghosts, murderers and lunatics.

Aumsville Community Theatre provides a live theatre experience for Stayton, Aumsville, Sublimity and the surrounding areas. We work hard to support a community of creative people who love to participate in the joy of live theatre (stage plays, murder mysteries, and staged radio shows) as actors, crew, and audience. We involve all ages; in the past year we had cast members ranging from 6 to 85 years old. In a time where the arts are struggling, we feel it is important to continue to provide these much-needed services to our community.

Ticket sales only cover a portion of the expenses of a theatre. We pay rent and utilities year-round for the Little Red Schoolhouse, royalties to the publishing companies for each performance of a play (more for musicals), materials and construction costs to build sets and costumes, as well as other fees such as insurance, music licensing and more.

Please consider becoming a member of the Aumsville Community Theatre. We are a 501c3 organization and your membership/donation is 100% tax deductible. Membership includes the following benefits: your name listed in our theatre and in our playbills, invitations to our yearly Aummie awards and new season unveiling, and our undying thanks.
